Project
SunRice.
A portable environmental monitoring system for silo ventilation stacks.
Readings taken live from inside the ventilation stack.
Of data kept online on the dashboard, and downloadable to keep on file.
Leeton and Deniliquin. The unit is portable, plug and play.
The job
A second set of eyes on the stack.
SunRice captures phosphine before silo air is released, as the law requires. Our system works alongside that capture system, checking the air in the stack to confirm no phosphine gets through beyond set ranges.
An older monitoring system that wasn't performing well and couldn't be serviced.
A newer, easier-to-use system from GasApps that meets SunRice's EPA requirements.
Simplified illustration. Red dots show phosphine, grey dots show air.
Live data
Six readings. One dashboard.
Phosphine, oxygen, carbon dioxide, temperature, humidity and stack velocity, shown live on the unit's touchscreen and online. The update rate can be set in seconds, minutes or hours.
How the data travels
From the duct to the dashboard.
Sensors
Mounted in the duct, reading all six values.
PLC and touchscreen
GasApps PLC programming, with a live display on an Omron touchscreen.
Data logging
Every reading is logged on the unit.
GSM
Sent through a Senquip device over the mobile network, using a SIM card.
Senquip dashboard
Live online, for both SunRice and GasApps.
Data stays accessible on the dashboard for two years, and can be downloaded and kept on file. That gives SunRice the records it needs to meet strict EPA requirements.
Built to move.
Portable
Housed in a single control panel with a carry handle. Take it to any site, plug it in and it's running.
Power with backup
Runs on 240 V AC, with battery backup built in.
On-site display
Readings are shown live on the Omron touchscreen, so staff can check the stack at the unit.
Data logging
Every reading is recorded, with two years held online and downloads for permanent records.
Mobile network
Data is sent over GSM using a SIM card.
Adaptable
The same approach can be adapted to other jobs, such as monitoring fumigations.
Data you can trust. Records you can prove.
